One Inspiring Rescue - April’s Top Dog

I was told to not have any expectations about Baby Ruth’s behavior because she had so recently been in and out of potential adopters homes and fosters.

The chaos can create so much confusion in some of these rescue pups until they find THE home.

The Baby Ruth I met was a doll. She came up with a grin on her face and her tail whipping back and forth. She is so full of life. So full of fun. The muscles ripple along her shoulders with the strength of youth, vitality, and solid pitty structure.

This is an athlete, I said to myself. Baby Ruth needs an active home with someone who is crazy about adventures. Someone who can set boundaries for themselves and their dogs. Disciplined. Fair. That is who we want for her.

Baby Ruth has come a long way. From the streets in Texas as a lone puppy to Spokane, WA where the heroes of Path of Hope Rescue took her in. She went from foster home to adoption, back to foster home, back to adoption, and is now back in foster care again.

She just hasn’t found her perfect fit, yet.

There is not a thing wrong with her. Like people, she has her unique personality traits and that crackling energy. Ruth is bossy, confident, and a go-getter. I picture her in the board room of some Fortune magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 company. She needs a CEO who can handle her strength and teach her settled boundaries. Then, watch her bloom!

I had met with Ruth’s foster parents to get some official photos for another run at finding her the right home. She needed some glam shots to show of who she is. I enjoyed meeting her very much.

This was the first time I’d tried a magazine cover template and I love the look it creates. We are all very hopeful that this will help Baby Ruth’s name get out there so that she can finally have a lasting home. No more moving around.

As this is a blog circle (part of a wonderful group of pet photographers), please head over to Terri J Photography capturing photos of your cats around Toronto and beyond.
