My goodness, has it ever been the craziest of 7 months EVER.
You all know the list that goes with it: COVID, school closures, protests, murder hornets, etc…
It has honestly thrown me for a loop and I’ve rather withdrawn from the world. There has still been photo sessions and even an award won, but, it has been hard to throw my heart into it.
Everything is so upside down.
Yet, I pulled up on the proverbial boot straps last week and shifted my gears back to business, doing what I love, and sharing that gift with all of my clients.
For starters, I’ll show you what has been occurring at Touched By a Dog since I last posted in March.
A prestigious award
Well, honestly, it was a big prestige and honor to me. I’ve never won an award before in literally anything.
Back in March, I had submitted both photos and digital painting images to the Professional Photographer’s of Washington print competition. By the time judging was completed, all four of my photos and all four of my paintings had merited with great scores.
Not too long after, during an awards ceremony, I was awarded the Alma Gray Trophy and Scholarship for the best “first time” entrant.
WOW. I was floored and deeply honored.
It gave me the momentum to pursue the Professional Photographers of America in order to advance my knowledge and background even further.
I am ALL in and desire giving my clients the very best.
The dogs (and cat) I’ve photographed since March
I have had the great pleasure of working with some new dogs and some repeat clients so far this year.
I love each of them as they show me golden glimpses of their personalities.
It is always a delight to me when I see those individual sparks come out in my photos.
From first to last, the dogs (and cat)…

It’s full on Summer now
Who knows how things will continue to look as we make our way through a crazy world right now. I’ll be homeschooling one of my boys starting in the Fall. The other one is still in public school and no plans consolidated there.
I DO know that we will find our way and all things end eventually. COVID will be history some day.
In the meantime, I am still photographing pets and doing so safely. There are no worries about viruses when you spend a couple hours with me in the great outdoors.
Spokane is currently flowering in vibrant heights of color. One of my favorite times for photo sessions. Think about booking one before the summer blooms fade.
